This retreat is mandatory for all Symphonic and Symphony members. It is held annually during the Labor Day Weekend at Whispering Winds Camp Ground in Julian.

The SDCYO Symphony Orchestra performs with internationally acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated virtuoso, Tina Guo, acoustic/electric cellist, recording artist, and composer. Tina is also a SDCYO alumna who performed the Saint-Saens cello concerto with the SDYCO Symphony Orchestra when she was 10 years old.
